The Township of Central Frontenac is committed to meeting accessibility needs for people in a timely manner so that everyone may have equal access to Township programs, goods, services and facilities in a way that respects dignity and independence. Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities act, 2005 (AODA) is provincial legislation that outlines mandatory accessibility standards that identifies, remove and prevent barriers for people with disabilities in key areas of daily living.
The Township of Central Frontenac, North Frontenac, South Frontenac, Frontenac Islands and the County of Frontenac have created the Frontenac Accessibility Advisory Committee (FAAC). The mandate for this committee is:
Advise Council in each year on preparation, implementation and effectiveness of its Accessibility Plan.
Review selected Site Plans adn drawings described in section 41 of the Planning Act in a timely fashion in terms of how they address the accessibility needs of the disabled.
Work with Council and the community at large to identify and address the needs of the disbled community.
Perform such other functions as specified by Council or through legislation.
